When the news started circulating today that the long-gestating sequel to 2003’s Finding Nemo not only has an official release date, but a title as well, I thought it was a belated April Fool’s joke. Not so, it turns out. Set for a November 25, 2013 release date, the film has been titled Finding Dory. Ellen Degeneres is confirmed to be returning as Dory, quoted in the press release as saying “I’m not mad it took this long.
And that is it. No date. No details. Nothing. Still, that is more than we had yesterday. Regardless, it is no surprise that this happened as they did announce their plans to re-release the film in 3D and considering that it is the only Pixar release yet to be on the format, it makes sense that they would plan the releases to come out around the same time. With the FINDING NEMO theatrical re-release set for September 2012, I wouldn't expect the blu-ray until closer to that time. Watch the trailer below:
